Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Vascular Treatment
IPL works by targeting visible redness and vascular concerns — helping to restore a more even skin tone and reveal a clearer, calmer and more luminous complexion.
At New Age Skin Care, we believe healthy, radiant skin is something to be nurtured at every age. IPL is one of our preferred treatments for helping to reduce the visible signs of facial redness, rosacea and vascular concerns, allowing your skin’s natural radiance to shine through.
-
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a light-based treatment that can target visible vascular concerns within the skin.
By delivering controlled pulses of light to targeted areas, IPL can help reduce the appearance of redness and visible blood vessels, supporting a clearer and more even-looking complexion.
-
IPL Vascular Treatment may help improve the appearance of:
Facial redness
Rosacea-related redness
Visible capillaries
Small facial veins
Broken capillaries
Uneven skin tone associated with vascular concerns
Common treatment areas include the face, neck and décolletage.
-
IPL delivers controlled pulses of light to the skin. The light is absorbed by targeted blood vessels, allowing the treatment to focus on visible vascular concerns.
As the skin responds and settles following treatment, the appearance of redness and visible vessels can become less noticeable, helping create a more even-looking complexion.
-
During treatment, you may experience a mild pinching or snapping sensation as the light pulses are delivered.
Most clients tolerate IPL well and local anaesthetic is not typically required. For more sensitive areas, a topical anaesthetic may be considered where appropriate.
-
Treatment time depends on the area being treated.
Most treatments take less than 30 minutes, making IPL a convenient option for addressing visible vascular concerns.
IPL involves minimal downtime, although your skin may appear temporarily different following treatment.
You may experience some redness, mild swelling or temporary darkening of the targeted vessels as your skin responds to treatment.
Most clients can return to their normal activities, with some additional care recommended while the treated area settles.
-
The number of treatments required will depend on your individual skin concerns, the extent of vascular changes and the area being treated.
Some clients may see an improvement following their first treatment, while a series of treatments may be recommended to achieve the desired result.
During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
-
Results develop as the treated vessels respond and the skin settles.
You may begin to notice a reduction in visible redness following treatment, with further improvement developing over subsequent treatments where a series is recommended.
Individual results will vary depending on your skin and the vascular concerns being treated.
-
IPL is not suitable for everyone. Your suitability will depend on your individual skin type, concerns and medical history.
A consultation allows us to assess your skin, understand your concerns and determine whether IPL Vascular Treatment is the right option for you.
-
Following your Registered Nurse pre- and post-treatment recommendations is important for supporting your skin as it responds to treatment.
You may be advised to avoid:
Direct sun exposure
Exercise for 24–48 hours
Hot tubs and excessive heat until the treated area has settled or healed
Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare instructions based on your treatment and skin.
-
For some clients, IPL Vascular Treatment may be combined with our Cutera Coolview Laser to target individual vessels and veins, which can respond to only one treatment.
Your Registered Nurse will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate treatment approach for you.
