What is involved in laser hair removal?

Before you start your laser hair removal session you will meet with one of our Nurses in our beautiful Wagga laser clinic just off Baylis Street. She will conduct an assessment of your skin type and hair colour, check if you have any allergies, and document any medications that you may be taking before starting the laser hair removal process.

Usually, for complete laser hair removal, a course of 6-8 sessions is required to achieve the best results, but once you've completed your laser treatment cycle, you can look forward to smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment. Compare that to the cost, pain and hassle of a lifetime of waxing it’s an easy choice! Plus with our new location on Tompson Street visiting our new laser clinic is easier than ever.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

It’s virtually painless! With older technologies the treatment would feel like an elastic band snapping quickly against the skin, however now with our new laser machine, even on areas that were once painful like the upper lip and face, our patients tell us that they barely feel a thing, and when compared with waxing, plucking or using an epilator, laser hair removal is clearly the superior choice.

Do you shave before laser hair removal?

Yes, simply shave the area as you normally would to prepare for any laser hair removal treatment. You can shave the night before or the morning of your treatment to ensure you get the best results. Then afterwards leave the area for a few days before shaving again.

How long does it take to see results?

You may notice after the treatment your hair shedding, usually within 5-14 days you’ll start to see the hair falling out. Resist temptation and don’t pluck or wax the area, simply shave again, and continue to do so until your next laser session.

Laser hair removal aftercare

After your laser hair removal treatment, there are a few things you should and shouldn’t do to ensure good results. The number one rule after laser hair removal is to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen as your skin may be more sensitive to the sun’s UV rays in the short term. You can apply your moisturisers and serums to your skin as normal however it’s best to stay away from strong perfumes, harsh body scrubs, and tanning lotions for the next few days.

What is the cost?

The cost of laser hair removal treatments is generally reflected in the surface area of the treatment. The larger the area the more expensive.
