Anti-Wrinkle Treatments: What's Holding You Back?

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments: What’s Holding You Back?

I see a host of clients for many different services – IPL, chemical peels, and facials. Some of my clients – who may initially have come to me for other treatments – often become interested in what else they can do to improve the quality of their skin, particularly as they age. They’re the ‘Injectable-curious’ as I call them – those interested in the benefits of anti-wrinkle treatments, but who may still be unsure.

Often, these are the clients who routinely express two main concerns when it comes to trying anti-wrinkle treatments for the first time. See if either of these sound familiar:

  1. What’s actually in that stuff anyway? (Really what they’re asking: is this safe?)

  2. I don’t want to look like a deer frozen in the headlights! (Really what they’re expressing: they don’t want to look unnatural.)

New Age Skin Care has the answers to these concerns. So if you’re part of the uninitiated when it comes to anti-wrinkle treatments, but you’re thinking of taking the plunge, here’s some of the quick info I like to share with my ‘before’ clients to address these common concerns:

  1. What’s actually in that stuff anyway? – Clostridium botulinum is what anti-wrinkle products are derived from. And yes, that fancy medical-sounding term is actually a neurotoxin. But not to worry – so is alcohol!

What this means is that like alcohol, Clostridium botulinum is a naturally occurring substance: Much like how penicillin – another wonder-drug – is derived from mold. When administered correctly (think of your 120ml wine pour) anti-wrinkle treatments can be used safely and produce excellent results for your skin.

That’s why this procedure needs to be completed by a professional (I am a registered nurse) in a safe and hygienic setting, like New Age Skin Care

Anti-wrinkle treatments and other related name-brand products all work the same way: Repeated micro-contractions of your muscles cause skin wrinkles, and anti-wrinkle treatments work by temporarily disrupting the chemical signals that cause your muscles to contract. That’s it. Nothing too scary.

Also, Anti-Wrinkle products have been around and in-use cosmetically for a long time – over 30 years. It’s generally considered one of the safest products available, and can even be used to treat a variety of other conditions

  1. I don’t want to look like a deer frozen in the headlights! – When it comes to anti-wrinkle injections, I completely adhere to the Golden Rule: Less is more. The goal of anti-wrinkle injections isn’t to freeze your face into an eternal mask of non-expression, like that seen on too many Hollywood celebs!

Good, professionally administered anti-wrinkle treatments will just soften those hallmarks of aging (wrinkles) that begin to appear most prominently around our eyes, between our brows, and on our foreheads.

And anti-wrinkle treatments consistently deliver great results: smooth, fresher-looking skin. I promise you won’t look like a post-Friends Courtney Cox.  You’ll still look like yourself – just like you’ve had a really good facial

And if you’re not happy with the results? Still no reason to worry: the effects of anti-wrinkle injections only last on average between three and six months. So if you decide anti-wrinkle treatments just aren’t for you, there’s no risk of being permanently stuck with a look you don’t like. The same can’t be said of dental work!

If you are thinking of trying anti-wrinkle treatments, or would like to discuss this or other options, please contact me today. I’m happy to answer any and all questions about the process.
